Meet Dr. Pate Smith

About Dr. Smith

Dr. Smith grew up in Butler, where he attended Taylor County High School and played both baseball and football throughout high school. After graduation, he initially attended Andrew College to continue playing baseball before transferring to Valdosta State University.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University in 2010 before receiving his dental degree from the Dental College of Georgia in 2016. He then completed a General Practice Residency in 2017 and practiced in Augusta prior to relocating to Savannah in 2018.

Dr. Smith joined Habersham Dental in 2020 and now serves as the lead dentist at Islands Family Dental, where he specializes in surgical extractions and implants.

Dr. Smith believes in providing care with transparency and honesty. He wants patients to understand what is happening with their oral health, why treatment may be needed, how it can address their concerns, and what to expect throughout the process. By communicating openly, he helps patients feel informed and prepared to make confident decisions about their care.

Patients can expect Dr. Smith to listen carefully to their questions and concerns and provide the information they need to feel more comfortable with their care. He strives to create an environment where patients feel heard and have a clear understanding of their oral health and treatment options.

Dr. Smith enjoys extractions and dental implant procedures, as well as crown and bridge
treatment. Whenever possible, he values the opportunity to preserve a patient’s natural teeth while restoring their health, comfort, and function.
